Press release

A unique klezmer band from Slovakia, participating in the renewal of klezmer music, blends the style of klemzer with modern styles: jazz, rock, reggae and world music. An original compilation of sound ranging from the Balkan region, through the Mediterranean, up to the sound emerging from Bratislava’s old Jewish district… Preßburger Klezmer Band plays klezmer for people worldwide and invites them to dance.

Review from a concert held at the festival in Les Nuits Européennes, Strasbourg (F)

These musicians share a new and original approach to klezmer music. Their youth, energy and esprit are expressed in an ecstatic joy of their music. The instrumental part intertwined with pleasant singing, dance rhythm and purity involves the audience and invites them to dance and celebrate. Preßburger Klezmer Band demonstrates its skills best by combining energy with vibrant vitality resulting in a festive mood, which wonderfully reflects the wealth and wisdom of Jewish life.
